Selecting Files for Your ABS Off-Site Backup
Step Two: Finding And Choosing Files and Folders
The backup window is split into two frames. The left side shows all the drives and folders in your computer, while the right side shows what's in the folder highlighted on the left. Put a checkmark in the box next to any file or folder to include it the group with other files to be saved. On the left side, to show folders inside other folders, just click on the plus sign (
) beside a folder's name.
When you begin selecting the files you want to save, you may note three items at the top of the list: Email, Music, and Pictures. If you check any of these, your email or audio files and photos will be included no matter where they are located. Email files include your address book and Outlook or Outlook Express data.
You may also choose other, more specific files and folders by putting a checkmark in the appropriate box.
Above the words Home and Backup on the menu, you will notice images of a piece of paper, a folder, and a floppy disk. When you're done choosing the files to save, click on the image of the floppy disk (
). This tells the program that you are done choosing files to include and that you are ready to safeguard them. You may either save the files immediately or set a time to have the program save the files and automatically check to see if these files change in the future.
To save the files immediately, click the button labeled Backup. To set a time and have the program check to see if these files change in the future, click Schedule.
